(Tamuning, Guam- Tuesday, September 2, 2008) GTA TeleGuam is proud to announce the
launch of Guam Digital Television, the newest service in GTA TeleGuam’s lineup of
communications offerings.

Guam Naval Base Makes Progress On $35.9 Million North Tiapalo Housing Project

SANTA RITA, Guam (NNS) - Naval Base Guam held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Aug. 21 to celebrate the progress of the North Tipalo housing project. Twenty-eight families will live in new homes on base now that construction is complete on the first increment of phase one of the project.

The 28 homes are part of $35.9 million project that will introduce a total of 204 new residences by 2009.

At the ceremony Suzan Kear, Navy Housing's program director, noted the new units raise the bar for quality of life.

"The new Ocean Ridge at North Tipalao is complete with all the lifestyle amenities necessary to give our service members and their families a sense of place, a neighborhood that we can all be proud of," said Kear.

Navy Volunteers Cap Three Weeks Of Work On Guam's Schools

SANTA RITA, Guam (NNS) -- Navy volunteers capped off three weeks of beautification and maintenance support for Guam's public schools at projects around the island this month. Volunteer Sailors, several of whom brought their family members, partnered with government of Guam employees, mayors, parents, and other island residents to prepare schools for their Aug. 12 post-summer reopening.

Aviation Ordnanceman 2nd Class (AW) Brandy Layton, of U.S. Naval Airborne Weapons Maintenance Unit 1, said the community relations project was a good way to learn about the island.

"I've only been here for about a month, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to meet some new people, some of the locals," she said.
